Yoga comes in many forms and is taught in many ways. This page is designed to give you a better picture of how I teach and whether my approach is what you are looking for.
The type of Yoga I teach is a very gentle form of Hatha Yoga. I encourage you to 'tune into' your body and respect and appreciate the way it is in this moment. It's not so much what you do, as the way in which you do it. Awareness of your body is essential. In my classes you will be given time to 'listen' to your body and move in ways that feel good. There should be no strain in Yoga practice.
I start each session with Semi-supine posture (lying on your back with knees bent, feet in contact with the floor about hip width apart). This posture helps you lengthen and align your spine - which is important because much of what I teach is about maintaining and developing flexibility in your spine.
I teach you how to increase your breath capacity and how to use the breath to help you be in the moment and to let go of unhelpful stresses.
And, since Yoga is about unity of body, mind and spirit, I invite you to breathe in the peace and harmony of this moment, from moment to moment, deeply uniting all aspects of your being.
