I have been practicing Yoga since 1980 and qualified as a teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga in 1993.
I teach a gentle form of Hatha Yoga which is infused with moments of stillness and relaxation to nourish body, heart and soul.
My style of teaching encourages flexibility and body awareness as well as inner and outer strength. Since there is no competition in Yoga practice, each student develops the freedom to work with what is appropriate for their own body, appreciating and enhancing what is, taking time just to BE, and relaxing into well-being.
I currently teach in Ipswich at 2 Ipswich Borough Council buildings, 2 Suffolk County Council venues, Ipswich Hospital, and at 'Sanctuary' - a small Yoga Studio situated 8 miles North West of Ipswich (also my home).

Prior to training to teach, I made a small living from growing organic produce on a 4 acre small-holding in Suffolk.
However, my experience of studying encouraged me back into education and led me to take a university degree as a mature student.
Two years after graduating I undertook a Personal and Professional Diploma with Brian Thorne at University of East Anglia. This formed the first part of my MA in Education. The second part was an independant research project for my dissertation called 'Nature as Educator'.
The results of my research inform and infuse my Yoga teaching and other workshops which encourage a more natural approach to life and the opportunity to learn from the turning of the Wheel of the Year.
My longer-term dream is to establish a dedicated Yoga Studio in rural Suffolk with day classes and residential courses. In February of this year, that dream started to beginning to come true when I bought a 17C barn standing in 1.5 acres of old orchard - just south of Stowmarket. Much work to do, still at the planning application stage!
